Hey there! I'm Danise, a wife, mom of two grown-up kids, a Goldendoodle and a crazy cat. I'm all about pancakes, bluebirds, historical fiction, the LA Chargers, and coffee shops. But you might know me for my success in developing hair salons and taking on DIY projects.

I've been in the hair industry for over 30 years now. I've owned four hair salons (two of which made the Salon Today 200 list), have taught hair color and business classes, and now I even host my own podcast and YouTube channel. I'm obsessed with this industry and the impact we can make on people's lives.

​

I always knew I wanted to work in hair, and I made it happen when I moved to California in '89. After attending Oceanside Beauty School and assisting the first World Ambassador for Tony & Guy in San Diego, I opened The Hair Spa in Carlsbad, CA in 1995 (and it is still going strong under a different owner!)

​

Since then, I've owned three more salons in Chesapeake, VA, where I raised my family. My team and I worked our butts off and received numerous awards for our work, such as Salon Today Top 200 Salon four years in a row and best of Chesapeake eight years in a row...and we were even the number one salon with our retail brand nationwide! Plus, we hit $2 million in revenue!

Now that I have sold my salons, I want to give back to an industry that has given me so much. I created my podcast and YouTube channel to help new stylists and seasoned pros find their success in the beauty industry.
